Hot topic in Lipedema

Posted on 12 August 2019

Often when talking with a Lipedema Woman you will find that they can move many of their joints in extreme positions.  Here are a few of the positions that can be done:

Bending their thumb to touch their wrist

Fluxing the knee backwards instead of normal position

Bending fingers backwards towards the wrist or forearm

Bending and touching the floor with the palm of the hands

This can cause pain to the joints and stress on the joints.  Imagine having a Hypermobile Shoulder joint and now you have the weight of the upper arm stressing that joint.

Pain in the knees due to the fluxation.

Ankles that are weak and often give especially as the Lipedema evolves.

Please take a look at some of the Hypermobile positions.

Ask your therapist or Doctor to check you out if you think you are Hypermobile.  Check out the EDS support group.

Are you Hypermobile?  Post your picture of being hypermobile.  Share your story with us.  We would love to hear from you.
